What’s open and closed on Memorial Day in Massachusetts

Holiday observed: Monday

Retail stores: Open.

Liquor stores: Open, but not before noon.

Supermarkets: Open.

Convenience stores: Open.

Taverns, bars: Open at owner’s discretion.

Banks: Closed.

Stock market: Closed.

Municipal, state, federal offices: Closed.

Libraries: Closed.

BCYF Community Centers: Closed

Schools: Closed.

Parking Meters: Free with no limit.

Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery only.

MBTA: Subways and buses will run on a Sunday schedule, the Ride will be on a Saturday schedule, and the commuter rail will run on a weekend schedule. There will be no ferry service from Hingham to Boston and Winthrop. Ferry service from Hingham/Hull/Logan to Boston will run on a Sunday schedule, and East Boston, Charlestown, and Lynn ferries will run on a weekend schedule.
